Synopsis
Tour guide Madrone Hunter is in the hot springs’ town of Truth or Consequences, New Mexico, to relax with friends at a soon-to-open B&B. The B&B’s owned by her friend’s former nanny, who is in the midst of a property dispute with her neighbor as she prepares for her bed and breakfast’s grand opening.
When Madrone discovers the neighbor’s body, the neighbor’s son denies that it is the suicide it appears to be, and engages the help of Madrone and her friends to discover the truth. They probe the dead woman’s life, discovering numerous past rivalries and disputes, and, eventually, a spate of blackmail.
As danger rises in the town formerly known as Hot Springs, will Madrone lose her life to save a deceased friend’s reputation?
